Dr. Francesco Bellini
Dr. Francesco Bellini is an Officer of the Order of Canada and recognized as a pioneer in bio-pharma. Until 2001, Dr. Bellini was the President and Chief Executive Officer of BioChem Pharma Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on infectious diseases and cancer, which he co-founded in 1986. Dr. Bellini currently serves as Chairman of the board of directors of Ascoli Picchio F.C. 1898 S.p.A., Bellus Health Inc., Domodimonti Srl Società Agricola, FB Health S.p.A., Iniziative Immobiliari Marchigiane Srl, and Picchio International Inc., and previously served as chairman of the board of directors of ViroChem Pharma Inc. From 1997 to June 2014, Dr. Bellini served on the board of directors of Molson Coors Brewing Company Inc. Dr. Bellini received his Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University and his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of New Brunswick.
Mr. Carlo Bellini
Carlo Bellini is President at Klox and has served as a member of our board of directors since April 2009. Mr. Bellini previously served as Managing Director of Vitus Capital Holdings Ltd., a private U.K. fund, from June 2011 to September 2014. He served as President of Domodimonti Srl, an agricultural company, between April 2009 and June 2011. Prior to 2009, Mr. Bellini worked in different capacities at a variety of investment funds. Mr. Bellini received his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from McGill University.
Mr. Domenic Serafino
Domenic brings over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry. Domenic was a partner and President of Canada’s largest laser distribution company, Sigmacon Group, for over six years. In 2001, he joined Syneron as President for North America, and was instrumental in taking the company public on Nasdaq in August 2004. During Domenic’s tenure at Syneron, the company grew from $0 to $1.3 billion market cap in less than five years. Domenic is currently board member of Syneron Candela, Scientus Pharma, Venus Concept and Klox Technologies.
Mr. Charles Herington
Charles Herington is President of Global Operations and Vice Chairman of Zumba Fitness, LLC. From 2006 to September 2012, he worked at Avon Products, Inc., a beauty products company, where he became president of emerging and developing markets. Since 2003, Mr. Herington has served on the boards of directors of Molson Coors Brewing Company Inc. and NII Holdings, Inc. Mr. Herington received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico.
Hon. Sergio Marchi
Dr. Lise Hébert
Dr. Lise Hébert is the Executive VP of R&D at Klox. Prior to joining our company, Dr. Hébert served as Vice President of Corporate Communications at Bellus Health Inc., a public biotechnology company, for over 10 years. Dr. Hébert holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, where her research focused on amyloidosis and during which time she also conducted research at New York University Medical School. Dr. Hébert completed her post-doctoral studies at the Lady Davis Research Institute at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital and she is the author of several patents. She currently serves on the Life Sciences Committee of the Fédération des Chambres du Commerce du Québec.
Mr. Roderick Budd
Roderick Budd, CPA, CA has served as a member of our board of directors since February 2015. From June 1974 to June 2010, Mr. Budd practiced as a public accountant at Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Budd currently serves as the chairman of the audit committee of the board of directors of Telesta Therapeutics Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on oncology, and Bedrocan Cannabis Corp., a producer of pharmaceutical-grade medicinal cannabis. Mr. Budd also serves as chairman of the board of directors and chairman of the audit committee of the board of directors of Immunotec Inc., a nutritional and wellness products company. Mr. Budd holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, a graduate diploma in accounting from McGill University and is a CPA, CA in Canada.
Prof. Giovanni Scapagnini
Dr. Giovanni Scapagnini, MD, has been an associate professor of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Molise since 2006, where he researches genetics and cellular stress response and the molecular mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Scapagnini is one of the leading world experts in biological mechanisms of aging and of Anti-Aging Medicine, is the Director of the Scientific Board of DF Medica. He has recently obtained a visiting professorship with the Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland, where he leads a research project on HIV dementia. He is also the scientific director of the “Research & Progress” foundation, founded by Dr Robert C. Gallo. He is author of 35 indexed scientific papers and several book chapters. His fields of research regard gene expression profiles of cellular stress response and biology and molecular mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegenerative disorders. He received his PhD in Neurobiology and MD from the University of Catania.
Dr. Richard Markoff
Dr. Richard Markoff has over 25 years’ experience as a supply chain executive, academic, consultant and coach. He is an operating partner at Innovobot and has served as the Director of Global Supply Chain Standards at L’Oréal cosmetics. Dr. Markoff holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management and is a lecturer and researcher at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland. During his time in New York, Dr. Markoff was a key contributor to the design and implementation of the three pillars of supply chain under one structure. In 2013 he won the Manufacturing Leadership Award.
